Temperate oceans

By Ale
The Temperate ocean is a large body of water. It is also home to many living organisms such as plants and animals. The temperate ocean has a color of blue and green/torquiose as you can see here.

The skate is about 21 centimeters at birth.
When it becomes an adult it is at least eight feet. That is larger than a normal sized human. The skate mostly eats different types of fish.
Fun Fact
Did you know that the
skate has no fish family
information at all?

The basking shark is the second largest species of fish in the world. It mostly feeds on plankton. At birth the basking shark is five feet long but as an adult it can grow up to be thirty five feet [10.4] meters.

The grey whales normal diet is plankton just like the basking shark. Even though it can grow up to 40 to 50 feet long it is very small compared to other whales. These whales live only in the pacific ocean.

The northern bottle nosed whale can grow up to 24-33. It only eats squid and fish. This animal can live in the arctic ocean and the northern Atlantic ocean. This whale looks very much like a dolphin but isn't.

Plants

Kelp Forest
Kelp Forest
The Kelp forest can grow up to 125 feet.It is the tallest plant in the ocean. Also it is can grow longer than a blue whale, the largest animal on earth. But some can not be that tall as you can see in the picture. It can only live up close to the water because it needs sunlight to survive.
The Feather star
The Feather star

The feather star is a very beautiful plant. It lives in shallow water and attaches to the ocean floor by taking something above it making it stick.
Blue green coral
Blue green coral

Blue green coral is very wierd looking. It looks like pieces of art got clumped together. It can live in some deep waters but not a lot.
You think that phytoplankton is an animal, but it is actually a plant. Phytoplankton is microscopic which means it can only be seen if you have the best eyes in the world. As you can see in the picture there are so many clumped together. [blue and green].
